A registered reading session where children ages 5 and up take turns reading aloud for up to 10 minutes to Rose, a trained therapy dog from PAWS for People, at the Media-Upper Providence Free Library.
Families arrive at the children's room and check in, then kids wait their turn to sit with Rose and read aloud from a book of their choosing for up to 10 minutes each. The atmosphere is calm and encouraging rather than performative — the dog is a non-judgmental listener, so hesitant or emerging readers can practice without pressure. Parents and caregivers stay nearby, and the whole session wraps within the hour.
