Pennsylvania Swindlers

Martinique Deux · Media, PA

Pennsylvania Swindlers is a Philadelphia-area acoustic duo — Dan Welsh on vocals and guitar, Collin O'Donnell on guitar and mandolin — playing a lively mix of rock, bluegrass, country, and Irish tunes, mostly covers.

Two acoustic instruments and two voices do the work of a full band: flatpicked bluegrass and Irish fiddle tunes sit comfortably next to country shuffles and rock covers reworked for guitar and mandolin. The picking is crisp and the tempos stay upbeat, with mandolin chopping rhythm under close vocal harmonies and the occasional left-turn cover thrown in.

Martinique DeuxTucked into the basement of Media's Phoenix Building, Martinique Deux blends speakeasy charm with the energy of a neighborhood bar and live performance space. The 21-and-over room features a stage for music and comedy, dartboards, TVs for Philly sports, and a bar serving drinks and casual bites — all with a hidden, underground feel that makes catching a show feel like discovering a secret.
