Mineralogy of Delaware County
Delaware County Institute of Science · Media, PA
A free public lecture by Ron Sloto on the mineralogy of Delaware County, presented in person at the Delaware County Institute of Science's Lecture Hall with a simultaneous Zoom option.
Expect a classic community science night: doors at 7:00 p.m. give you time to settle into the institute's historic lecture hall — surrounded by its long-standing mineral, fossil, and natural history collections — before the talk begins at 7:30. Ron Sloto will walk the audience through the local minerals and geology of Delaware County, likely with slides and a Q&A, in front of a small, curious crowd of local science enthusiasts. If you can't make it to Media in person, you can join the same talk live over Zoom.

Delaware County Institute of ScienceEvents unfold inside a historic 1833 natural history museum on Veterans Square, where a lecture hall sits surrounded by display cases of mounted birds, fossils, shells, and minerals. The intimate, old-world setting feels like stepping into a 19th-century cabinet of curiosities.
