A hands-on intro workshop at homesewn where participants learn traditional Japanese sashiko stitching and visible mending techniques to repair a favorite woven garment.

Expect a small, relaxed evening class where you bring a woven item to be mended — pants, a button-down shirt, or similar — and learn sashiko, the traditional Japanese running-stitch technique used for visible mending. The repetitive stitching makes for a slow, meditative session, and you'll leave with a repaired or embellished garment plus the skills to keep mending at home. As an intro-level workshop, it's geared toward beginners rather than experienced sewists.

homesewnA bright, colorful fabric and yarn shop that one customer described as being 'inside a rainbow' — homey and hands-on, with space to gather around worktables for sewing, knitting, and crochet classes and drop-in fiber arts circles.
