Jawn of the Dead is a Philadelphia-area six-piece Grateful Dead tribute jam band that treats the Dead's songbook as a launchpad for improvisation and surprise covers, played with high energy and a deliberately unpredictable streak.

A six-piece with twin guitars, keys, and a soulful female lead voice, they stretch Dead staples like 'China Cat Sunflower' and 'Not Fade Away' into open-ended jams before swerving into surprises — Dylan, the Beatles, Stevie Wonder, even a Brubeck detour. Sets run long and shape-shifting, moving from country-folk ballads to full-tilt psychedelic rock as the improvisation dictates.

Shere-E-PunjabShere-E-Punjab is an intimate Indian restaurant on State Street that transforms into a lively live music room most nights of the week. With a capacity of around 70, guests can reserve a table for dinner and craft drinks, then enjoy an up-close evening of music — from weekly jazz jams to weekend rock, reggae, and tribute bands — all in a warm, casual dining-room atmosphere.
