Deconstructing Veterinary Myths and Misconceptions

A free public lecture at the Delaware County Institute of Science in which veterinarian Heather DiGiacomo, DVM, debunks common veterinary and pet-care myths, offered in person in the Lecture Hall or via Zoom.
Expect a classic small-town science-society evening: doors open at 7:00 p.m. for the 7:30 p.m. talk in the Institute's historic lecture hall, surrounded by its mounted birds, fossils, and mineral exhibits. Dr. DiGiacomo, a local veterinarian from Newtown Square Vet Hospital, will walk through widely believed pet 'facts' — the kind of myths about diet, check-ups, and animal behavior that circulate among pet owners — and separate them from what the evidence actually shows. The crowd tends to be a mix of curious locals and pet owners, with a relaxed, question-friendly atmosphere, and a Zoom option if you'd rather attend from home.
