Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
The Media Theatre · Media, PA
A family-friendly stage musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, following Charlie Bucket and four other golden-ticket winners through Willy Wonka's fantastical factory.
Expect a full-scale musical production in a historic 440-seat theater, with colorful sets, songs from the Broadway version, and a parade of larger-than-life characters like Willy Wonka, Violet Beauregarde, and Veruca Salt. A 2:00 PM matinee draws a mixed crowd of families with kids, grandparents, and theater regulars, so the atmosphere is relaxed and audience reactions tend to be vocal. The show leans on spectacle and humor over subtlety, making it an easy, crowd-pleasing outing rather than a challenging night of drama.
