Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
The Media Theatre · Media, PA
A family-friendly matinee performance of the Roald Dahl musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, staged at The Media Theatre as part of its holiday-season run.
Expect a full staged musical production of Willy Wonka's factory tour, with young Charlie Bucket and the four other golden-ticket winners moving through a set full of bright, whimsical surprises and songs from the Broadway adaptation. A 3:00 PM Sunday matinee draws a mixed crowd of families with kids, grandparents, and local theater regulars, so the room tends to be lively and vocal rather than hushed. It's an easy, crowd-pleasing afternoon out — familiar story, big production numbers, and a runtime built to hold younger attention spans.
The Media TheatreA historic 440-seat theater on State Street, the Media Theatre opened in 1927 as a vaudeville house and cinema and still retains its English Renaissance decor.
