Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
The Media Theatre · Media, PA
A family-friendly matinee of the Roald Dahl musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, staged at The Media Theatre as part of its holiday-season run.
Expect a full staged musical production of the Willy Wonka story, with young Charlie Bucket and the other golden-ticket winners touring a fantastical factory full of eccentric characters and stage surprises. A 2:00 PM Sunday-style matinee draws a mixed crowd of families with kids, grandparents, and local theater regulars, so the atmosphere is relaxed and audience reactions — laughs, gasps at the set changes — are part of the fun. It's a straightforward sit-down theater outing: arrive early for the box office and lobby, and plan on a full-length show.
The Media TheatreA historic 440-seat theater on State Street, the Media Theatre opened in 1927 as a vaudeville house and cinema and still retains its English Renaissance decor. The intimate setting and strong acoustics make it a beloved spot for live musicals, plays, and concerts in the heart of downtown Media.
