Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
The Media Theatre · Media, PA
A family-friendly stage musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, following Charlie Bucket and four other golden-ticket winners through Willy Wonka's fantastical factory.
Expect a full-scale musical production in a historic 440-seat borough theater, with the Wonka factory rendered through colorful sets, costumes, and songs drawn from the Broadway version and the 1971 film. The tone is broad and crowd-pleasing, pitched at kids while winking enough at adults to keep the Oompa-Loompa humor and Dahl's darker edges intact. It's a festive-season outing — the kind of show grandparents, parents, and children attend together, with a post-show stroll through downtown Media's shops and restaurants as the natural follow-on.
