Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
The Media Theatre · Media, PA
A family-friendly stage musical adaptation of Roald Dahl's Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, following Charlie Bucket and four other golden-ticket winners through Willy Wonka's fantastical factory.
Expect a full-scale book musical with colorful sets, costumes, and production numbers built around Wonka's factory tour, staged in a historic 440-seat theater where even the back rows stay close to the action. The crowd skews toward families and groups with kids, so the room tends to be lively and vocal rather than hushed, with the youngest attendees reacting out loud to the Oompa-Loompas and the golden-ticket reveals. It's a straightforward, crowd-pleasing evening out — roughly a standard-length musical — best suited to people who want a familiar story told with stage spectacle rather than a challenging or experimental night of theater.
