Charlie And The Chocolate Factory
The Media Theatre · Media, PA
A family-friendly staging of the Roald Dahl musical Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, following Charlie Bucket and four other golden-ticket winners through Willy Wonka's fantastical factory, performed as a Sunday matinee at The Media Theatre.
Expect a full-scale musical production in a historic 440-seat borough theater, with a matinee crowd heavy on families and kids on a December afternoon. The show leans into spectacle — Wonka's factory, its oddball characters, and the Oompa-Loompa numbers — so the mood is playful and a bit giddy rather than serious drama. Arrive early enough to settle in; the theater sits on State Street in downtown Media, making it easy to pair the show with a meal or a walk before or after.
