Chair Yoga with Alexis Monday at 10am starting June 15th. Registration encouraged for all classes. If you cannot make one, please let us know. Walk-ins accepted until class limit is reached. Chair Yoga will concentrate on strengthening your core and improving your balance, as well as stretching and breathing exercises. This class is ideal for anyone who has ever hesitated to try yoga due to the challenge of getting down on the floor or doing mandatory standing poses. Class is not limited by weight, arthritis or other physical limitations. All abilities can manage this gentle weekly exercise program. Class will focus on increasing mobility, creating strength through body awareness, improving balance, deepening breathing, and inspiring tranquility. Students are encouraged to do what they can in a compassionate, judgement-free zone. Dress comfortably No yoga mat needed Wear easy on and off shoes, although you are not required to remove them
Expect a welcoming, low-pressure hour where all movements are done seated or using a chair for support, making it accessible regardless of mobility limitations, arthritis, or weight. Alexis guides participants through stretching, breathing, and balance work at a gentle pace, encouraging everyone to do only what feels right in a compassionate atmosphere. No yoga mat is needed—just comfortable clothes and easy-on, easy-off shoes—and the library setting lends a quiet, community-oriented feel to the session.
